Adjunct assistant professor of research
I recently completed my PhD in Claude Desplan’s lab at New York University, where I studied how developmental programs shape neuronal identity and connectivity in the Drosophila visual system. My work combines single-cell genomics, connectomics, and computational analysis to understand how gene-regulatory programs generate neuronal diversity.
In the Chen Lab, I am helping develop and transfer computational workflows for single-cell RNA-seq and connectomic analyses, including mixture-modeling approaches for gene-expression states. I am particularly interested in making these analyses reproducible and easier to apply across datasets, while using them to generate biologically testable hypotheses.
