New Collaborative Paper in PLoS Biology: Decoding Olfactory Circuit Wiring in Drosophila
We're excited to share our latest collaborative paper, now published in PLoS Biology! Working with colleagues from Volkan’s lab at Duke University, we examined how Beat- and Side-family cell-surface molecules are expressed in the partner neurons of the Drosophila olfactory circuit. We find that these recognition molecules are deployed combinatorially, suggesting they act as a molecular code that helps matching neurons find each other during circuit formation. Congratulations to all authors on this work! Read the full paper here: doi: 10.1371/journal.pbio.3003955. (August 2026)
