My name is Katelyn Porrecca, and I'm an undergraduate biology major at Temple University, where I am also enrolled in the accelerated +1 program to earn a professional science master's degree in Bioinnovation. I joined Dr. Chen's lab in 2025, where my research focuses on developing cost-effective approaches for using genetic tools in Drosophila to study the molecular mechanisms underlying neuronal function. Outside of the lab, I work part-time as a pharmacy technician at my local retail pharmacy and as a course assistant for a data science class at Temple University.
